Endocrine System: What will I learn?

Hormones are cell messengers that carry important signals to different cells in the body. Our hormones are all interconnected like a web. Too much of one or too little of any can have cascading effects on others. There can be a lot of things that can go wrong with their communication, and these problems can be due to a multitude of factors, including nutritional inadequacies, stress, toxicity, organ toxicity / malfunction, mineral deficiencies. In this CPD you will learn how to speak simply and accurately of the endocrine system and how it relates to movement practice, and more specifically to yoga practices. It encourages students to deepen their knowledge about the endocrine system and comprehend the complexity of hormones and neurotransmitters in relation to movement practice.
